Gymini Under the Sea Mat
Entertainment! I love the Gymini Under the Sea Play Mat from our Sponors at Tiny Love. It’s genuinely one of the main things I recommend for new mom’s to be sure to register for because it actually works, it’s affordable and really easy to store. Ellington loves the bright colors and the soft mat is perfect on our wood floors, making it great for carting around our house so she can relax and have fun all over…and maybe sometimes she’s just on the living room floor and I’m lounging on the couch, but that’s a side point.
The way in which all the toys hang above is great for her to find wild entertainment and practice grabbing and tracking. When she was in her first three months she would just lay on her back and look up and the toys and rings hanging and I could almost guarantee that every time she was in there I would get a good smile out of her. From three to six months it was really great for tummy time. Ellington wasn’t a huge fan of tummy time at first, so this was really helpful for keeping her entertained. More recently she is really enjoying some of the electronic elements like the crab toy that plays music. Also an extra detail, there’s a QR code on the packaging that if scanned provides a story to parents to bring the theme to life for little ones.
I also couldn’t be happier that I can fold it up and slide it behind my entertainment center so when she goes to bed it’s a quick and easy way to entertain yet still have a de-cluttered living room at the end of the day.

Love the colors, love the design, love the gold, so here’s Chelsea of CK Wedding & Event Design:
What happens when an event planner decides to host a baby sprinkle for her business partner/Best friend? You get an over the top gorgeous design. This was shower was for a 2nd baby and since I believe that everything should be celebrated with a party. I decided to host a more intimate brunch, which included a bagel and yogurt parfait bar. We gathered some of the Mommy to be closest friends and family at a private home. We called it a baby sprinkle since we had showered her the first time with the first baby a few years ago.
The design inspiration came from the nursery going with mint, white and gold. Using geometrics shapes throughout the tablescape, which are also used in the baby nursery. Since the day was going to be a nonconventional shower, we skipped the games and instead set up a station for each guest to create a mini canvas print to hang in the nursery.

Eating Around the World & 25 Healthy Recipes with Global Flavors
Our latest podcast is here! This week, we’re talking to celebrity chef Carla Hall about the fun of eating global flavors and travel-inspired meals. Her latest cookbook is a mashup of comforting foods from all around the world, and it got us thinking about the value of eating in an international style.
Our diet is full of meals inspired by different ethnic cuisines. While it’s not a silver bullet for eating healthy, we do find that many of the exotic herbs and spices from different cuisines can add flavor to dishes without adding calories. Eating a variety of interesting flavors also helps us stay mentally satisfied with our meal, which can help curb cravings for sweets or salty snacks post-meal (for me, at least!). And one of the most fun parts of eating ethnic cuisines is the “research” — an excuse to travel not only to countries of the world, but even to different ethnic restaurants within your own city — to uncover new favorite flavors and dishes.
